NEC develops 3D paint for its LaVie notebook giving the top chassis 3D optical effect.
The LaVie G Type L Basic comes standard with “snow white” outer top casing, however customer can customize it with red, blue, or yellow. The special 3D paint produce hologram diamond pattern when surrounded by a magnetic field.

The guide will be the first of its kind for the rapidly changing industry, and is intended as the ultimate holography resource. Hologram manufacturers can be included in the listings free of charge if they submit their details before 15th September 2007.
The directory, which will be distributed free of charge at the annual Holo-pack•Holo-print conference in Hong Kong, will feature detailed listings of hologram manufacturers and suppliers with different categories to help divide up the vast array of holographic products, systems and technologies that make up the holography industry.

Researchers in Australia have created a new one-step test that uses  holograms to diagnose the astigmatic error of the human eye, a key measurement in determining the appropriate prescriptions for eye glasses in patients. This new technique adds to an earlier one, developed by the same researchers, for using a single hologram to measure another important property, the spherical refractive error of the eye.

German company SeeReal demonstrated a new holographic display at the SID 2007 this week. SeeReal, developed a prototype holographic screen that generates a three-dimensional holographic video that only you can see. The prototype is 50 centimeters across, the largest holographic video display ever built and it’s based on an eye-tracking technology.
SeeReal only uses an approx. 30×30 pixel array for each of the 3D scene points - the so-called “sub-hologram” approach.
Overlapping all of these sub-hologram on the data panel allows creating a Full-HD 3D scene while using LCD flat panel displays with resolutions available today, e.g. 30-50µm pixels for a 40-60″ holographic HDTV. For full story……

Manufacturers of regulated products in the country may now go to bed with their eyes closed as the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has concluded plans to adopt the use of fool-proof holographic labels to secure NAFDAC registration numbers on registered products.
According to NAFDAC correspondent they are using tamper-evident hologram as a measure to fight the counterfeiter.
