Diesel’s an Italian fashion companies is known for their controversial advertising campaigns. During the launch of their latest collections in Florence, Italy Diesel added holographic image which mingle with the models on the catwalk. It is first time that holograms have been projected along a traditional catwalk. The images are aqua themed, with turtles lazily swimming around and even a shoal of fish who turn into a model.Â

World’s Biggest Holographic Screen displays at SID 2007

German company SeeReal demonstrated a new holographic display at the SID 2007 this week. SeeReal, developed a prototype holographic screen that generates a three-dimensional holographic video that only you can see. The prototype is 50 centimeters across, the largest holographic video display ever built and it’s based on an eye-tracking technology.
SeeReal only uses an approx. 30×30 pixel array for each of the 3D scene points - the so-called “sub-hologram” approach.
Overlapping all of these sub-hologram on the data panel allows creating a Full-HD 3D scene while using LCD flat panel displays with resolutions available today, e.g. 30-50µm pixels for a 40-60″ holographic HDTV. For full story……

Al Gore appears as a Hologram in Tokyo

Live Earth organiser AL GORE appeared onstage at the Tokyo, Japan leg of the charity extravaganza - as a hologram.
The former U.S. vice-president wowed Japanese fans by making a live holographic video appearance from Washington, D.C. on Saturday (07Jul07).
Al Gore was speaking on Global warming.Â
“Global warming is the greatest challenge facing our planet, and the gravest we’ve ever faced.
“But it’s one problem we can solve if we come together as one and take action and drive our neighbours, businesses and governments to act as well. That’s what Live Earth is all about.”

Use of hologram for promotion

Toyota launch a 3D Hologram projection at Blue water Shoping Centre.
It was the largest virtual 3D video hologram ever to appear in a single unit retail outlet-the projection of a full size Toyota Auris family car spinning mid air, complete with a life size human test drive.
The toyota holographic projection is based on the Pepper’s Ghost principle using an ‘invisible’ Eyeliner for foil projection screen.
